On behalf of our client, we are presently recruiting for a Plant Engineer to join their team. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in project management with the ability to multi-task with the goal of completing many projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
To develop and manage project plans, operations, budgets and schedules
Provide engineering support for the operations group
Assist senior management in developing and justifying capital expenditure requests
Investigate practical, cost-effective and innovative plant improvement solutions
Utilize and incorporate Six-Sigma and other project management tools, methodology and principles
Negotiate contracts and supervise equipment vendors, service providers and contractors
Actively participate in Company initiatives; Innovation, Share groups, MyMLF, Energy and Efficiency
Requirements:
5 years experience as an Engineer or Mechanical/Electrical Technologist, or 10+ years of equivalent project experience
Proven track record of handling multiple projects
Working knowledge of industry codes and regulations – OH&S, WHMIS, HACCP
Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical and planning abilities combined with practical business sense
Advanced skills with MS Office and Project Management software
Excellent verbal and written communication
Knowledge and experience with Food industry would be an asset
