It will likely always be Chipperfield’s to those who have lived in the Minnedosa area for over 25 years or so, and in some ways entering the Chipperfield Coffee Company recalls some of the best of those times. A warm family atmosphere greets you in a grand space that retains the majestic tin ceiling, original hardwood floors and exposed brick of the almost -100 year old building at 50 Main St. North in beautiful downtown Minnedosa.
The relaxing burgundy and taupe colour scheme, along with the leather sofas and flickering gas fireplace, beg you to stay just a little longer. Chipperfield’s has become, in a very short time since it’s opening in July of 2005, the favourite new place to meet and join friends for that needed break or favourite indulgence.
The extensive beverage menu lists dozens of varieties of specialty espresso-based lattés and mochas, as well as the more traditional cappuccinos, mochaccinos, café-lattés and café-au-laits. Steamers or coolers are prepared in a hard-to-chose-from array of flavours. At least one flavour of iced cappuccino is on tap daily. As well, Chipperfield Coffee Company offers always-delicious dark-roast Chipperfield Blend, medium-roast Colombian, a selected decaf coffee, along with a special coffee flavour-of-the-day. A wide variety of green, herbal and Rooibos loose teas, brewed with on-sight filtered water, are a soothing alternative to the coffee-based drinks, as are the juices and soft drinks. Of course, you must accompany your favourite beverage with a signature Chipperfield Brownie or Carrot Cake, or choose from a variety of delicious muffins, cookies, peanut butter squares, etc., all prepared daily on the premises.
For the younger crowd, 12 flavours of hard ice cream are available for cones, sundaes, shakes or Twisters.
A wide selection of take-home beans and fresh-ground coffees and our new loose tea varieties allows you to extend your enjoyment. We carry an ever-increasing choice of giftware including espresso/cappuccino makers from Bialletti, the amazing Brew tea infuser pots, fine china, mugs, and so on. Gift certificates are always available and tasteful gift baskets can be specially prepared for the special person on your gift list.
